Our Board & Staff:

Nathan Lewis
Executive Director
Nathan Lewis came to Worcester Earn-a-Bike last year as a board member. When he saw the need for a new executive director after Brian Monteverd, our long-time president, and subsequent ED was stepping down last year, Nathan stepped up.
As a resident of Central Massachusetts, Nathan has fully integrated into the Worcester community. Starting his journey at the College of the Holy Cross, he then transitioned to collaborating with local non-profits before securing a position at the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC). He has served as the Public Outreach Coordinator/Assistant Planner for the Transportation Division. Nathan is deeply committed to creating a sustainable future that prioritizes the well-being of both the planet and its inhabitants. Through a combination of advocacy, community engagement, and hands-on initiatives, he strives to make a lasting impact. Nathan firmly believes in the power of initiatives like biking to promote sustainability and build community.

Stacie is a life-long Worcester resident. She’s a long-time youth worker and currently serves as the YouthGROW Coordinator at the Regional Environmental Council. She enjoys working on bikes and absolutely loves it when someone walks a bike in, gets what they need, and gets to ride it out.

Frankie Franco

Frankie has served as a mentor and role model for numerous youth and adults, making a positive impact through his involvement with organizations like 508 Bike Life, the Latino Education Institute's program for middle school boys, the Appalachian Mountain Club's Youth Opportunities Program, the City of Worcester's Division of Youth Opportunities, and several other local groups. Presently, he is engaged in a joint effort with Technocopia, a makerspace in Worcester, to assist Latinos in recovery at the Hector Reyes House.

She has used her professional fundraising and grant writing skills for WEAB since 2017. She is an independent grants consultant working with community-based organizations through the state and several in Worcester. Her number one love is bike touring, starting with a two-month solo ride out west when she was 26 that got her hooked for life.

Kim McCoy

Kim McCoy has been a bicycle commuter/camper and amateur mechanic for old bikes for 50 years, a MassBike advocate for 40 years, Seven Hills Wheelmen Secretary for 20 years, and our treasurer since 2005. He is inspired by the much greater expertise and commitment of our shop managers.

Cara Mitrano (They/Them)

Cara has been fixing and riding bikes since childhood. Upon moving from the Midwest to Worcester, they were initially intimidated by all the hills! However, since earning a bike from WEAB and getting into bike touring, they enthusiastically ride around Massachusetts and just completed a multiweek bike tour to Canada They hope to help WEAB continue to serve the local community by providing free, eco-friendly, autonomous transportation.

Noel Allen
Board Member
Noel is the Community Gardens Coordinator at Regional Environmental Council. She works in the Main South neighborhood of Worcester near WEAB. She brings community organizing and event planning skills. Noel just joined our board in June.

Sara Rivera (pronouns she/her/ella)
Board Member
was born and raised in Worcester Massachusetts, first generation from Salvadoran parents and graduated from Worcester Public Schools (North High School!). She received her Associates in General Studies from Quinsigamond Community College and a Bachelor's in Liberal Studies concentrating in Psychology and Family Studies From Worcester State University.
She comes to WEAB with over 13 years in working in the Worcester Public Schools department. First, as an educator in the classroom supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs, then through human resources, equity and quality insurance at the district level. Prior to that, she started her youth work journey as a shift Supervisor in group homes and a juvenile detention center, as well as supporting afterschool and mentoring programs through the Latino Education Institute at Worcester State.
In her own words: “My passion with community engagement, growth through learning, and helping others has opened many doors for me to utilize my skills and help those in our community, especially by closing gaps when there is a language barrier, as I speak Spanish, and assisting those wanting to grow in their careers in my current role as Quality Assurance Specialist for WPS”
As a board member for WEAB, she’s excited to work alongside the other board members, and agency through assisting with recruitment for positions, events, and community projects that center the most impacted. Utilizing her skill sets to build a stronger nonprofit that youth and community members can participate in, where we collectively can build a bicycle together, learn the basics, and get out for a ride!
